Service dogs have an important role in the
life of chronic illness and disabilities people. In general service, dogs are
trained with great protection and come under 3 categories such as service dogs,
therapy dogs, and emotional support dogs. As these dogs are trained in such a
way that it gives protection and safeguard, leads a great path for the
disabilities, and is supportive for the people's emotions.
Service
dog:
The service dogs have been trained for a
certain period and have gone through several tests. The service dogs must pass
the tests before entering into the service and the test includes retrieving
dropped objects, opening cupboards, staying calm in the surrounding and a lot
more. Once the test is passed then the dog will get into service with protective
measures and wearing service
dog vests.
Therapy
dogs:
Service dogs and therapy dogs are like
opposite sides of a single coin. Whereas service dogs offer physical aid to
their handlers. Therapy dogs will provide physiological therapy dogs that bring
comfort in society and can be trained by anyone and these dogs are very
friendly in the environment. So the service dog collar is locked or tied with a
chain or a rope to protect the surrounding. These dogs are not trained for
longer time duration. In many places, therapy dogs are allowed the same as the
service dogs.
Emotional
support dogs:
The final type of service dogs are emotional
support dogs. This dog doesn’t need any kind of training. It is just to
register the comfort of the owner and it always combines with the owner every time.
The interesting thing about emotional support dogs is that the owner can keep
it with them and only allow them to stay with the emotional support dogs. You
can get engraved service dog ID tags that will show the uniqueness of the dog.
So these are the types of service dogs
with a great reputation in society as a service dog. These service dogs are
very intelligent and can give personalized service dog tags with detailed information about
their services and about the achievements in the training if any.
